    A murderer who escaped from a Nelsonville, Ohio, prison was convicted of beating to death a 26-year-old Cleveland woman and dumping her body behind an abandoned factory in 2002. John Modie, 58, was not found at the Hocking Unit of the Southeastern Correctional Complex during the inmate count at 11 p.m. Sunday.
